Before the Roadmap, There Was a Mother With a Calling.

My homeschool journey didn’t begin with certainty — it began with conviction, questions, and a deep desire to do this differently.

It Started With a Why.

There was a time when I questioned everything.

Was I capable of teaching my children well?

Would they miss out socially?

Was I strong enough to go against the norm?

What began as a quiet conviction slowly became a defining decision for our family. I wasn’t looking to create something impressive — I simply wanted something intentional.

Homeschooling, for us, was never just about academics. It was about discipleship. It was about connection. It was about raising leaders with strong character and steady faith.

And it wasn’t always easy.

There were seasons of doubt. Seasons of recalibration. Seasons where I had to return to our “why” and rebuild with clarity.

But over time, what once felt overwhelming became structured. What once felt uncertain became confident. And what once felt fragile became firm.

That transformation didn’t happen by accident.

It happened through experience, reflection, refinement — and a commitment to building something sustainable.

That is what eventually became the Roadmap.

Built from 20+ Years of Homeschooling

I’ve homeschooled from kindergarten through college graduation.
Everything I teach comes from lived experience — not theory.

The Conviction Behind It All

I did not begin homeschooling because it was trendy.

I began because something in me knew there was another way.

A way to be present.

A way to shape not just academics, but character.

A way to disciple, guide, and truly know my children.

It wasn’t bold at first. It was quiet. It was prayerful. It was steady.
There were doubts.
There were raised eyebrows.
There were moments when I questioned myself.

But there was also peace.
And over time, that peace grew into confidence.
What began as a conviction became a calling.

And what began in our home eventually grew into something I now share with families across the country.
I don’t guide families from theory.
I guide from experience.

What Homeschooling Taught Me

Why I Chose This Path

When I first chose to homeschool, my motivation was simple:

I wanted my sons prepared for life — not just for tests.

I wanted them confident in their faith, capable in their thinking, and grounded in their identity.

I didn’t want to outsource the most formative years of their development.

The Early Struggles

Even with conviction, I felt the weight of responsibility.
Was I choosing the right curriculum?
Was I doing enough?
Was I missing something important?
That first year required humility. Research. Patience.
I learned quickly that homeschooling wasn’t about recreating a classroom at home.
It was about creating a rhythm that fit our family.

The Turning Point

The breakthrough came when I stopped trying to copy other systems.
Instead, I began building our own structure — one aligned with our values, our pace, and our season.
That was the moment confidence replaced chaos.

What Changed Over Time

As the years unfolded, I saw something deeper happen.
Our home steadied.
Learning became part of life.
Our relationships strengthened.
It was no longer about “doing school right.”
It was about building something sustainable.

Why I Now Guide Other Families

After more than 20 years and watching my sons graduate prepared and grounded, I understood something clearly:
Most parents don’t lack heart.
They lack clarity.
And clarity changes everything.
That is why I now guide families — to help them move from uncertainty to structured confidence.
